Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance's Budget Cut From $135 Million To $75 Million!

Despite a fairly successful first installment, Sony have cut the movies budget in order to focus on Spider-Man and Men In Black 3! Hit the jump for all the details...
It looks like the movie will find it even harder to compete against the likes of Batman 3, Superman, Spider-Man and The Avengers in 2012 as Sony have apparently decided to cut the budget for the movie! Here are the main points of interest courtesy of The Wrap:

"That film had an estimated budget of $110 million, and grossed $115 million domestically, and a total of $229 million worldwide."

"This time Ashok Armitraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment has stepped in to cofinance the project because Sony has so much capital tied up in 'Spider-Man' and 'Men in Black 3' and 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.'"

"The budget has been cut from $135 million to a leaner $75 million, according to a knowledgeable insider."

"Even Nic Cage had to take a serious haircut to reprise Johnny Blaze, down from his $12 million fee to what one knowledgeable insider said was $7 million."

Written by David Goyer and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, production is set to begin shortly with a release date set for February 17, 2012.
