Guillermo del Toro Pitching a Take on ABC's Incredible Hulk Series?

Marvel & ABC's tentative live-action series for the "Incredible Hulk" reportedly already has a pitcher in Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro. Check it out!

The announcement of Marvel Studios teaming up with Disney's ABC network is said to adapt many of Marvel's comic properties into live-action television series. And one of those properties being 'The Incredible Hulk,' the studio is reportedly setting the series as a top priority. And now Io9 is claiming:

"Hulk has a "showrunner wanted" [sign] around its neck, and sources are saying that Guillermo del Toro and Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick will be pitching a take."

The site further claims that ABC had no comment, neither confirming or denying it. But with great CBM titles under his belt, such as Hellboy, it's sequel, and Blade II, what do you think of Guillermo del Toro pitching a weekly Incredible Hulk series?

New Hulk TV Show In The Works, Cloak And Dagger Also Being Developed

Big news from Marvel's TV department. Not only is a new Hulk TV show in development, but the relatively obscure team of Cloak And Dagger, too. AND, we have a full list of characters that are on Marvel's radar...
After the hugely popular original 70s-80s tv show starring Bill Bixby, Marvel and ABC are brining the not so jolly green giant back to the small screen.

Hulk is one of two projects that are priorities at Marvel Television. Marvel Studio’s TV division which has been operating under the radar since Jeph Loeb took the reins at the end of June. The second hot property is Cloak and Dagger which is being developed as a possible show for ABC Family.

Apparently both shows are in the very early stages of development, Hulk being the front-runner, with Loeb currently meeting with writers to get ideas together for Cloak And Dagger. Word is that Marvel will have a full list and presentation of their planned shows around May. For the moment, here are the characters tickling their fancy..

• Heroes for Hire (focusing on ex-con Luke Cage offering to take on bad guys for a price)
• The Eternals (a race of super-powered beings live amid humanity in secret, inspiring legends)
• Agents of Atlas, Alter Ego (private investigator Jessica Jones takes on cases involving superhumans)
• Moon Knight, the Red Hood (a low-rent criminal discovers a cloak that gives him superpowers)
• Ka-Zar (a Tarzan-type and his saber-toothed tiger must journey to the concrete jungle to seek justice)
• Daughters of the Dragon (a dynamic female duo, one with a bionic arm and the other a granddaughter of a samurai, open a private-detective agency)
• The Punisher (one man wages a war on crime; already adapted as three feature films).

Apparently Punisher is also a definite, but as a cable play, and not for a long while after the two above projects. It's unknown if the shows will link with the movies, or even with each other. Since Marvel have gone to great lengths to establish a shared movie universe, it's a fair bet they might try something similar here.

Adrien Brody Enthusiastic About Playing Marvel's 'Ant-Man'

The Predators actor reveals that hes talked to his reps about playing Marvel's Ant-Man in the live-action film, and he seems quite interested. Check it out!

Kofi Outlaw of Screen Rant, recently sat down with Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody, who was out promoting the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of Predators, at the New York Comic-Con. And a portion of what they discussed centered on July speculations that had Brody being pursued, or at least considered for the title role in Edgar Wright's live-action Ant-Man movie.

"I haven’t been involved in any of those discussions – I have mentioned it to my reps who have been kind of covert about their response as well, which is very strange to me. I said ‘Is there any validity to this, what is this?’ and they said ‘Well…it’s too early to say.’ It was very strange and I kind of dropped it at that…Not everything that is bandied around the Internet is factual, but sometimes there are elements that do stem from truth that people who are in the middle of it aren’t aware of either. We’ll see."

After telling Kofi he doesn't have a relationship with Wright, he did seem interested in the role saying, "I’m enthusiastic about it. The key is to constantly push the boundaries and to find things that allow me to be creative and do things that, you know, I enjoy and grow from." Brody then assured Kofi that the same people who may doubt him for Ant-Man are the same people who doubted him for the lead of Robert Rodriguez's Predators.

Brody also made it clear that he isn't looking to be trapped in any kind of acting box, and is open to all the variety of experience acting offers. And when Kofi asked what exactly he'd bring to the astonishing role, "If it progresses, I’ll guarantee I’ll fill you in." is all he had to say.

The last we heard on Edgar Wright's Ant-Man was that the second draft was still a work in progress, but got noted that it would be a heist film. And in my honest opinion, Adrien Brody portraying the astonishing avenger is about the easiest casting decision I can see falling through, what do you think?

CONFIRMED! EMMA STONE TO PLAY GWEN STACY IN SPIDER-MAN!

Emma Stone has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming Spider-Man film from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, it was announced today by Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures.Stone has been tapped for the role of Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. The film, to be directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and produced by Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will begin production in December and will be released in theaters nationwide in 3D on July 3, 2012.
The casting continues an association between Sony Pictures Entertainment and the actress, who previously starred in Superbad, The House Bunny, and Zombieland, all for Columbia Pictures; she may currently be seen in Screen Gems’ hit comedy Easy A, and takes a cameo role in Screen Gems’ upcoming Friends with Benefits.
Commenting on the announcement, Tolmach said, “It’s been an incredible journey for us to watch Emma’s star rise as an actress. She is extraordinarily talented and has a very special on-screen spark that is perfect for this role. Given her history with the studio, casting her in one of our most important franchises is a real thrill.”
Webb added, “The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice. At the heart of the story of Peter Parker is not only the amazing Spider-Man, but also an ordinary teenager who is wondering what he has to do to get the girl. Andrew and Emma will bring everything audiences expect to these roles, but also make them their own. Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen (Emma) is also a natural blonde.”
Emma Stone can currently be seen starring in Screen Gems’ hit comedy Easy A. Next year, she will star in Warner Bros.’ Crazy, Stupid, Love opposite Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling and in The Help, the adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s bestselling novel; she also takes a cameo role in Screen Gems’ Friends with Benefits and will voice a role in DreamWorks Animation’s comedy The Croods. Stone’s recent credits include Paperman, Zombieland, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The House Bunny, The Rocker, and Superbad.
